Summer
Camps at SDSU
The
South Dakota State University Publications Institute is an intense
four-day workshop for high school students and advisers held every
June.
Students
may participate in the Yearbook or Newspaper Institute where they
learn desktop publishing, writing or photography. The workshops
are hands-on and students team-up with a writer, desktop designer
and photographer to produce a mini yearbook or newspaper.
The
advisers have the opportunity to hone their skills or learn new
ones. They can earn two graduate credits or arrange for up to
two additional graduate credits through an independent study project
to be completed over the summer.
The
workshops are taught by university professors and advisers from
high school All-State publications.
